What Makes a Meeting Room Actually Work

Daylight, air, power and a door in the right place. The unglamorous checklist.

Nobody books a room for its ceiling height, but by hour four everyone in it can tell you whether the room is working.

  • Daylight, with the option to black it out
  • Air conditioning that can be adjusted from inside the room
  • Power at the table, not along the wall
  • A door away from the presenter, so late arrivals are not an event

We check all four before we recommend a room to you — which is why our planners sometimes suggest a smaller space than you asked for.
